The United Kingdom has approximately 2, 000 miles of coastline.
The longest river is the Thames about 215 miles long and it flows through London ending in the English Channel.
Since 1994, the United Kingdom has been connected to France by the Channel Tunnel. The 34 kilometer tunnel allows a journey by car or train and takes only 35 minutes.
It has many offshore islands including the Shetland Islands, the Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly, Isle of Wight, the Hebrides, the Orkney Islands, and the Channel Islands Jersey and Guernsey which are the biggest and very popular holidays destinations.
Europe’s largest metropolis is located in England of course, London. Who does not know the city?
Every day something new is happening.
But the rest of England is also very nice to visit with typical landscapes where you can make many interesting discoveries.
The United Kingdom is one of the most important cultural and financial centres of the world.
If you love the sea, the United Kingdom is an ideal country, because wherever you live it is not far to the sea.
Also if you like mountains you can drive to the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Pennines as well as Scotland and Wales.

In the United Kingdom you will find many great cities, historic towns, castles and fortresses.
Famous Cathedrals are in in Canterbury, York and Norwich.
University towns of Cambridge and Oxford and of course London.
Actually, there is something for everyone.
For young people who want to study, you will find many well-known universities and colleges from which Diplomas are recognized worldwide.
Of course, there are also many theatres, museums and many shopping centers.
Who does not know William Shakespeare, Somerset Maugham, Sherlock Holmes or the Beatles and the Rolling Stones?
Also Carnaby Street, Oxford Street, Harrod’s and so many other shopping aeras in London.
Or the English breakfast?
Or better the famous fish and chips.
And of course the English tea’s with scones, strawberry jam and cream.
People say food in the United Kingdom is not tasty, but the English chefs are very well known in the whole world.
Almost everyone has also heard of the races at Ascot and Epsom Downs.
Even those who are not passionate about tennis know the famous Wimbledon Tennis Courts that attracts famous players from all over the world to play on grass courts.
United Kingdom still remains a monarcy in and the people love their Queen. The Royal family is known all over the world. It is one of the oldest royal families in the world.
The United Kingdom is culturally diverse so it is also the perfect country to learn the english, language of the world.
Who goes to London without visiting the tourist highlights including Westminister Abbey, Big Ben, St Paul’s Cathedral, the changing of the guard, Buckingham Palace, Harrod’s and many more.

It was a very hot day and a man fainted in the middle of a busy junction.
